Session Flow

The action painting experience, step by step

The full session runs for 90 minutes. This is a process-led experience rather than a results-led one: no technique or artistic talent required, just painting in a physical, free and intuitive way. The idea is to step away from everyday thoughts, let off steam while having fun, stay in the moment and slip into a creative flow.

Welcome, check-in and getting ready

At the start of the session we complete check-in and payment. Then you choose your canvas, put on your coveralls and get ready for the experience.

Briefing

We share a short briefing with tips and pointers on the action painting process. This part is designed to help you experience it more comfortably and freely.

The action painting experience

After the briefing, the action painting begins. For this stretch of time the space is process-led, rule-free and entirely yours.

Drying and clean-up

In the final 20 minutes of the session, the first drying stage for your canvas begins. While your piece is made ready to take home, you also have time to clean up.

A Few Notes About Your Session

This is a process-led experience rather than a results-led one: no technique or artistic talent required, just painting in a physical, free and intuitive way. The idea is to step away from everyday thoughts, let off steam while having fun, stay in the moment and slip into a creative flow.

During your session you can choose between hot tea, filter coffee or a cold drink from our refreshments.

A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Deposit details are shared with you when you book.

There is no age limit. Children under 7 are welcome to join the studio accompanied by a parent.

Every guest is provided with a hooded coverall, shoe covers, gloves and goggles. Even so, we recommend not wearing delicate clothing in case of an accident.

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. We suggest bringing as little as possible so you can move around the space comfortably.

Your canvas is handed to you at the end of the session with its first drying stage complete. Full drying time can vary depending on how much paint was used.

To keep our session schedule running smoothly, it matters — both to us and to the guests arriving after you — that you're at the studio at your session time and leave the space when the session ends.
